gappamaki:

Hi guys. I haven’t been round tumblr (or anywhere on the net) much recently and I just wanted to post an update to let people know I’m doing fine and nothing bad’s happened to me. ^^

Been very busy with an academic project (practically working every hour of my free-time over the past two months), as well of course my job as a junior animator, and the time-sucking game series of Persona.

Got plans for kappapillon (my art account) but I won’t be returning until this project is over and done with (so a few more weeks). Will be at MCM expo next weekend to catch up with people [if anyone wants to meet, lemme know] but won’t be cosplaying due to 0 spare time (and it looks like it’s gonna be a heatwave anyway. Lovely weather in the UK recently)~

Hope everyone’s been doing well and keeping positive. :)

Also, update for anyone interested in depression…

  1.  peppersupreme SAID: SO IF IT´S ANIMATION ARE YOU ALLOWED TO UPLOAD PROGRESS OR SOMETHING? IT’S REALLY INSPIRING TO SEE PEOPLE GET JOBS IN THIS FIELD Y’KNOW. REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU! :)

Thanks everyone who congratulated me! ^^ And I’m not sure at the moment how much I’ll be able to upload, but hopefully I’ll be able to put up a few in-progress stuff~ I’ll see.

Working on a new animated short now anyway, so I’ll be posting stuff about that in the near future. And once I give up entering my student film into animation festivals (haha) I’ll upload a load of in-progress stuff from that, if people are interested in seeing the rough or finished animation.

» First Job Interview Down

Had my first animation job interview today (for the internship). It went well and I’ve got the internship~ What’s even better, I managed to sort my work days there so that I’ll still be able to attend the interview in my hometown for the other animation job I’m eyeing. ^^ So I don’t have to decide between the two jobs just yet.

This internship seems really great though, and from the sounds of it there’s an insanely high chance of me landing a permanent job if I decide that I want to continue working there after my internship’s finished in a few months.

Ahh, happy~

Should I accept this 2-month animation internship (which would require me to spend most of my savings on accommodation, but I would be gaining valuable experience and there is the prospect of a job at the end of it), or wait a month for this interview for an animation job in my hometown?

If anyone has any advice, I’m all ears. I’m torn between them both and I don’t know what to do.

Personally, I would go with your gut instinct!

Way up the pros and cons of both options but be brutally honest with yourself. Don’t try to let other people sway you in your choice, by that I mean although you’ll be staying in your home town with your family and James etc, would it be a better to branch out?

Also look into the areas, you know your home town very well but do you know enough about the internship job area?

Alternatively, you could flip a coin? Haha. But defenitly way up the pros and cons. Write them down and you’ll physically see which would be a better choice. Also think of the long term and short term outcomes.

I forgot to add that the internship is non-paid. I really would like to go for it because it’s such a great opportunity and the company sounds really nice. I’m going up to visit the studio either next week or the week after (they’re extremely busy with meetings, starting up a kids tv show, and they need to get back to me about the exact date) so I guess I can decide fully after I visit them. I do want to go for it, but my family keep pressuring me not to. They don’t like the sound of unpaid work and I think they want to keep me around home.

Thanks a whole bunch for the advice though. I’ll think about it over the next week or so.

And hey, at least if I accept the internship I’ll be practically on your doorstep. c:
